3. How can/should technology support good learning and teaching?

• Individualize learning.
• Enhance the process by letting both faculty and students access more information.
• Increase interaction.
• Increase engagement.
• Make our teaching and learning activities more visible (networks have a way of doing this).
• Highlight existing problems (only 10 copies of Shakespeare in the library!!).
• Help in the collection of information about student performance thus helping us understand what "good teaching and learning" really is.
• Provide more shared tools for teaching and learning - shared instructional objects.
• Provide a new contexts for teaching.
• Give students a more accurate picture of what they are buying (web pages for colleges and universities and their instructional programs).
