Abstract
This innovation brief from Next Generation Learning Challenges (NGLC) focuses on the learning environment that College for America has created for its direct assessment, competency-based education model. The College for America Learning Environment (CLE) is a comprehensive platform for students and educators that tracks learning and degree progress and provides data management and analytics. It is built upon Salesforce, a commercial customer relations management tool.
The Next Gen Tools series of 2-page briefs describes tools and strategies used by the NGLC network of breakthrough model grant recipients, in both K-12 and higher education. The briefs are intended for practitioners within and outside of the network who wish to learn about emerging practices with an eye toward future implementation.
