Abstract

This innovation brief from Next Generation Learning Challenges (NGLC) focuses on the pre-service teacher learning collaborative between Jacksonville State University and Piedmont City Schools through the Collaborative Regional Education (CORE) professional development initiative. Student teachers from Jacksonville State serve as co-teachers, are trained in collaborative pedagogy, and gain experience teaching in a personalized, blended, mastery-based learning environment at Piedmont Middle School.

Next Gen Tools is a series of 2-page briefs that describes tools and strategies from the NGLC network of breakthrough model grant recipients in both K-12 and higher education. The briefs are intended for practitioners within and outside of the network who wish to learn about emerging practices with an eye toward future implementation.
