Abstract
With many reasons to understand and use assessment, CIOs need to know not only how assessment can support course-based teaching goals but also how it fits within the larger framework of institutional strategic planning, decision making, and external constituencies. Understanding the value of assessment and how to frame assessment questions is critical.
