Kristen joined EDUCAUSE in 2012 and is the knowledge management officer for NGLC ( In that role, Kristen focuses on identifying lessons, strategies, and outcomes from the work of NGLC grant recipients and making them available to a wider audience through the website, publications, social media, and blogging.

Kristen previously served as the assistant director for early college high school at the Woodrow Wilson Foundation in Princeton, NJ. In that role, she provided direct support to 20 partnerships between secondary schools and postsecondary institutions and managed the evaluation and documentation efforts of the initiative. Kristen also brings significant experience in student and academic affairs in higher education, in particular with first-year transition programs, service-learning and undergraduate research, and student support. She is driven by a passion for understanding the role of race, class, and gender in education and for making education work for those from groups that have been least served by the system. Kristen earned a BS in Mathematics from the University of Notre Dame, an MA in Higher Education from the University of Michigan, and a PhD in College Student Personnel from the University of Maryland.
