Biography

Leonard serves as the Chief Information Security Officer at Villanova University. 

Prior to joining Villanova University, he served as Assistant Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer at Rowan University and Rowan Medicine where he led the team responsible for establishing and maintaining the university-wide information security and risk management program. His past roles also include work as the Privacy Officer at Temple University, as well as various IT leadership roles in quality assurance, application development and client services. Additionally, he has spent several years as an adjunct professor for the Management Information Systems department at Temple University.

Leonard earned his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Messiah College and Master’s degree in Information Systems from Temple University. He holds the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) and GIAC Security Leadership (GSLC) certifications.
