Rick Lesniak is the Director of Academic Services, Computing & Information Technology at the State University of New York at Buffalo. Dr. Lesniak is responsible for central academic computing and instructional support systems and plays a strategic role in planning Information Technology at the University as part of the office of the Chief Information Officer and Vice President. His recent projects for 2004 include the University iConnect@UB universal access program, UB's Active Directory Implemenation Plan, and UBNetPass - a program to make UB's Residence Hall network staff from Internet threats. In addition to his administrative duties, Dr. Lesniak is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the School of Informatics and regularly teaches an introductory course about the Internet. Dr. Lesniak's research interests center on Social Networking and Internet development. Dr. Lesniak received his B.A. in Speech and Theater Arts from the State University College of New York at Buffalo, and completed his Doctorate in Organizational Communication at the University at Buffalo in 1982.
