Methodology
The 2024 EDUCAUSE Analytics Landscape study survey comprised 46 closed- and open-ended questions. Respondents may have been asked fewer questions depending on survey branching. The survey was distributed via EDUCAUSE marketing emails on July 15, 2024, July 19, 2024, and July 25, 2024. The survey remained open until July 26, 2024, resulting in 514 responses meeting the following criteria:
- Respondent currently (at the time of survey taking) works at a higher education institution.
- Respondent reports the use of at least one of the following types of analytics at their institution (operational analytics, financial analytics, academic analytics, student success analytics, learning analytics).
- Respondent answers at least 30% of questions (not including questions that are dependent on logic/branching).
Data from closed-ended survey items were analyzed with Stata SE 18, and open-ended survey data were analyzed within Excel. Quantitative data presented in this report were rounded to the nearest whole number. Open-ended respondent quotes presented in this report were lightly edited for readability. This research is limited by standard survey limitations such as constrained sample frame and response biases.
