Improving analytics capabilities and efforts would provide many opportunities. Respondents identified opportunities that would arise if their institution improved and matured its analytics capabilities and efforts (see table 2). Respondents in general seem to understand the potentially far-reaching impact of data and analytics at their institution. As one respondent noted:
So many things I could list here. Ultimately, it would enhance everything we do and help us navigate as we move into the next decade.

Better alignment with institutional goals | Respondents noted that improving analytics is a way to achieve alignment with institutional goals, such as improving enrollment management, enhancing academic program planning, and achieving strategic priorities. |
Enhanced collaboration and communication | Respondents noted that mature analytics could facilitate better collaboration across departments and more consistent, transparent communication of data and results. |
Increased trust and data literacy | Respondents saw the improvement of analytics as an important step in building greater trust in data, as well as increasing data literacy among faculty, staff, and students. |
