Abstract

Some buy off the shelf, others build their own, some build and buy. What is the effect of portals, and how are they being adapted by some organizations to fit the pedagogical needs of departments as well as the institution? Educational portals have the opportunity to go far beyond Excite and Yahoo. Will we have the courage to speak out for the educational use of portals as well as their use to personalize the University?
